DR. BOBBI STADNYK
My work has been in the areas of anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, chronic health issues, relationships, and overall adjustment concerns. In addition, my early work history as a correctional officer, a firefighter and an EMT has led to a special interest in trauma work including work with people who are experiencing PTSD.
Developing a strong working alliance that promotes trust and respect between me, as a therapist, and you as a client and results in beneficial change is a priority.
During sessions I use a variety of theoretical frameworks that integrate cognitive, behavioural therapy, ACT, client-centred approaches, mindfulness techniques, etc. that are tailored to meet your specific needs.
I taught as a sessional lecturer at the University of Regina for 10 years. The course that I primarily taught was Abnormal Psychology a third year class. The course focused on the psychological study of mental disorders in the DSM including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, etc. It explored how they present, how they are treated as well as the legal and cultural implications of mental disorders. It also examined various models of abnormality.

AUSTIN STADNYK RSW

We all face life challenges, stress or change at some point in their lives. I offer rewarding counselling as part of a collaborative process where we will work together to help you create a better understanding of your unique experiences & identify goals that will promote self-improvement and improve your quality of life.
My priority is creating a safe, respectful, and judgment-free therapeutic alliance, ensuring you feel understood, supported, and empowered throughout our work together.
I utilize a mutual approach that integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and person-centered techniques. I prioritize client transformation, & collaborative goal- setting, to facilitate meaningful and sustainable change in working with anxiety, depression, stress and other challenges you may have.
ABOUT THE THERAPY
Therapy provides a supportive space to slow things down, better understand what you are experiencing, and begin making meaningful changes in your life. People often come to therapy when they are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Others may be navigating stress, relationship concerns, trauma, grief, health challenges, life transitions, or long-standing patterns that no longer feel helpful.
Our approach to therapy is grounded in respect, collaboration, and compassion. We recognize that each person’s story is unique, and therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process. Together, we work to understand your concerns, identify your goals, and explore practical tools and deeper insights that can support growth, healing, and improved well-being.
When helpful, we use carefully selected assessment tools to support a clearer understanding of what you are experiencing. This can help you to identify patterns, clarify symptoms, highlight strengths and areas of concern, and track change over time. This added information can give clients meaningful insight into their experiences and help guide therapy in a thoughtful, focused, and informed way.
Whether you are looking for support through a difficult season, wanting to better understand yourself, or hoping to create lasting change, therapy can offer a place to feel heard, supported, and empowered as you move forward.
